New band lesson schedule added!Check out the newest page.... The weekly band lesson schedule is now available on the front page of the Music Boosters site! February Booster Meeting UpdateJust a quick update from the last boosters meeting regarding the upcoming 5th grade recruitment and a Fund Raiser that has come up.
We will need boosters assistance at the Parent meeting and making contacts families that do not return the response slips that will be mailed to them and brought home from school. The time line for recruiting is as follows and shows opportunities for you be participate – let me know of the Parent meeting or Phone-a-thon times will work for you – and also be prepared for a remaining list of names to assist in contacting in April.
Time Line:
February 27 Mailing to all 5th grade families March 3-5 Elementary tours by the FMS Band March 6-7-8 Students testing out Instruments March 13 Parent Information Night 6:30 PM at FMS
We will need about 4-8 Boosters available to answer questions parents have along with Pat so that Parents do not have to wait to ask questions. Let me Know if you will be available this evening to assist. ***Noelle – this will be an opportunity to have ensembles perform starting at 6:30
March 15, 26, 27, 29 Phon-a-thon (times and places to be determined)
We will be organizing people to come together to call those who have not turned in interest forms We will have a script of information to tell families Pat may consider extra credit for Band students to make calls – have call into churches to seek interested Band/Confirmation students for service project We will need boosters to agree to take a list of names that have not responded and continue to call until we have response forms back – Pat will have information on Google Document that we can review progress – can provide additional information at the March 26 meeting. From experience last year – families were real easy to talk to, we just need to catch them at home! We had band students volunteer last year and they enjoyed making the calls.
In addition, we are looking at a fund raiser opportunity at the FMS – a fun night on May 18 for 5th graders to get to know the school so that they will not be worrying all summer what the school will be like. It will be a fun night of activities for them to do, concessions for them to purchase, and tours of the general areas of the school. As more of this comes together and at the next meeting we can discuss details - we hope we can have FMS Band students and boosters work the concessions and activities for a couple hours that evening. Possibly able to make about $600-$900 for the evening.
